Scholarships

Scholarships are available through the Pack to assist with membership dues, uniforms, activities, trips and events. The Pack’s committee is pleased to offer this opportunity. Every Pack member is a vital and precious part of our family, so please do not hesitate to take advantage of the scholarship if the need is there.

Funding for the scholarship program is provided by private donations and by the allocation of funds raised or donated through Pack 140 fundraising programs. Scholarships will be awarded based on financial need without regard of race, gender, national origin or disability.

Please request an application for scholarship from the Committee Chair, Carole Stojetz. The application is the only documentation required. The Scholarship Committee shall, in a timely manner, review applications and award scholarships it deems appropriate and as funds are available. The process is strictly confidential.

GUIDELINES:

The applicant must be a registered member of Pack 140.

Scholarships are open to both newly applying families and existing members and can be applied for any time during the year.

The amount of the scholarship is at the discretion of the Scholarship Committee.

Families receiving scholarships must participate in both Pack 140 fundraisers (Popcorn and Camp Cards). In addition, families receiving scholarships are required to volunteer in some way with the pack through donation of time and skills.

Barring illness etc., the Scout is expected to attend any events that they register for that were paid for out of scholarships funds.

If the above guidelines are not followed, it will affect future scholarship decisions.
